This website was built from barebones and designed by me to portray my elite web design skills*.... joking.
The intention of this website is actually to show you that while I do know enough HTML and Javascript to write a Solitaire game, my strength lies in the 'new' stuff.
Specifically, Linux. More specially debian linux (Ubuntu), but I am also familiar with all the flavors of linux as I was required to become familiar with them at my previous places of employement.
My last gig I was using BurpSuite on Windows and Kali Linux to find vulnerabities in web applications.
Thankfully, my previous engagement also taught me there are much better ways to edit a file than the VIM I was accustomed to. I now prefer to edit using Sublime Text and Notepad++ to edit my files when I am in a developer mood and then I simply upload them with Filezilla. (All mostly free tools by the way.)
I moved this webpage to Github Pages from Amazon Web Services (aka AWS) because my one year 'free' AWS trial eventually expired as my great x 5 Grandpa Newberry York would tell you "Time Marches On"
(Check out the York Family Tree. It's really cool in my humble opinion.)
Windows gets the job done when you need a word processor, to play games, or to look at event log history, but Linux is where things get fun.
Linux is Secure by Design. Windows 3.0 circa 1980s, which is much older than Linux, was NOT secure when it was first developed because people didn't care about security.
Enough words, just check out my skill tree above and be sure to email me if you have any questions or would like to hire me for a Computer Security related position.
I can be reached at Daniel.A.York@outlook.com
* While my skills in HTML and Javascript are currently somewhat limited, I can learn very very quickly (plus Google always helps).
